Cowboy Bob Kelly #10 Page 2
We had a standing room only crowd and they cheered me on to a victory over The Medic. So on July 1st 1970, in Mobile, Alabama, my dream came true. I became the Gulf Coast Wrestling Champion for the first time. I stayed with Lee until he sold the territory in 1977. Lee Fields was my very best friend. He passed away around 8:30pm on June 4th 2000 at the place he owned and loved so much, The Mobile International Speedway. I think about him every day and miss him very much. I am still very close to his wife Ida, his brothers Bobby and Don, his Dad Speedy and their families.
So you see, when Vince Fahey asked me to write a story and compare territories, there really was no comparison. Thank you for taking time to read this story over the last several months. I hope you enjoyed it. Take Care and God Bless
VINCEKM NOTE: With this entry, Bob Kelly has finished what he wanted to write about. I'd like to thank Bob for bringing his unique perspective to Kayfabe Memories, and for sharing with us his memories. He's been a valuable part of the site, and it was my pleasure to have met him at this year's Cauliflower Alley Club reunion and thank him for his assistance. I'm proud to call him friend.
