Hoagie had been working for us about a year. His dream was to work for Fritz Von Erich, in Dallas. He had spent time with Kevin and Kerry Von Erich, when they worked shows for us. We were told that Fritz was interested in Hoagie and wanted to talk to him, when we came off our SE Asia tour. To celebrate the upcoming tour and contract with World Class Championship Wrestling, in Dallas, Hoagie went out and partied with his fiancée`.
The next morning, the office got a call, from his hysterical fiancée`, informing us that Hoagie had died in his sleep. We called his mother, in Florida, and found out he had a heart condition. We later learned that the continued use of steroids, plus the drinking and some cocaine that night, was too much for his heart. It was quite a loss, and pro wrestling lost a great worker, and potential champion. Rest in peace, Hoagie, for those that knew you miss you
